Oldest gay-bar in the World
In Kattesundet in central Copenhagen, you will find Centralhjørnet. A bar that calls itself the world’s oldest still existing gay bar. The bar has existed under its current name since 1917, but there is documentation of an establishment on the site dating back to 1852. However, documentation of when the place developed into a gay bar only exists from 1939, and from 1955 the bar officially began to identify itself as a gay bar.
