Bronze bust of Princess Marie, married to Prince Valdemar (youngest son of King Christian IX of Denmark), lived from 1865 to 1909.

The bust was created by sculptor Carl Martin-Hansen in 1912.
Princess Marie was a French princess by birth. Marie was described as impulsive, witty, and energetic. She gave her children a free upbringing, and her artistic taste and Bohemian habits dominated her household. She was also politically active.
