Nørreport Train Station

Nørreport Station in Copenhagen is Denmark’s busiest railway station, handling about 250,000 passengers daily, and a major transportation hub in Copenhagen connecting trains, metro, buses and bicycles.

The station is named after Nørreport (“Northern Gate”), one of the gates in Copenhagen’s old city walls demolished in 1857.

Completed in 2015, the station and surrounding square were redesigned as an open urban space where infrastructure and public life are integrated into a single architectural solution.

Joined the Copenhagen S-train network in 1934, making it a key commuter hub. The Station became a metro station when the Copenhagen Metro opened in 2002.

Completely redesigned between 2011–2015 with modern glass entrances and large bicycle parking areas.
