Carlsberg City District

Carlsberg Byen (Carlsberg City District) is a vibrant, new, and historic neighborhood in Copenhagen, spanning 33 hectares between Vesterbro, Frederiksberg, and Valby. Built on the former site of the iconic Carlsberg brewery, it blends industrial history, such as the famous Elephant Gate, with modern architecture.

Carlsberg Byen is also home to the new “Home of Carlsberg” visitor center, which offers exhibitions, beer tastings, and historical tours.

The area, which was formally finished around 2025, has transformed from a closed industrial site into an open, lively part of the city
