Memorials for fallen in 1864

At Kastellet (The Citadel) you can find a memorial for Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish soldiers who were killed in the Schleswig Wars in 1848-1850 and 1864.

The monument was created by Anders Bundgaard and depicts a symbolic tomb chamber.

In front of it stands a female figure holding a spear and a Dannebrog flag. On the pedestal beneath the figure, there is an inscription and the coats of arms of the three countries.
