Amalienborg Palace
Amalienborg Palace is home to the Danish royal family and a museum about the Danish monarchy
Amalienborg is composed of four architecturally identical buildings.
Amalienborg was originally built for four noble families (finish in 1760), but after Christiansborg Palace burned in 1794 the royal family bought the palaces and moved in.
At the palace square the 1771 statue of King Frederik V stands. A more than 240-year-old equestrian statue created by the French sculptor Jacques-François-Joseph Saly and is considered one of the finest equestrian statues in the world.

Every day at 12PM, you can watch the changing of the guards as they march from their barracks by Rosenborg Castle through the streets of Copenhagen to Amalienborg.
