Superkilen
On Copenhagen’s Nørrebro, there is a very special place. You can find Superkilen in the Mimersgade neighborhood, close to Nørrebrogade.
The park opened in 2012. The idea for the park came from the world-famous architect Bjarke Ingels, who is also behind Copenhill.
The park celebrates Nørrebro’s ethnic diversity and is filled with things from different parts of the world, thus representing the more than 50 nationalities that live in Nørrebro. It is a tribute to diversity. Among other things, you will find a boxing ring from Thailand, swings from Iraq, a Moroccan fountain, a black octopus playground from Japan, a donut-shaped sign from the USA, and many other things from all over the world.
The park is divided into three main areas: The Red Square, The Black Square, and The Green Park. The Red Square represents urban life, the Black Square represents everyday life in a city square, and The Green Park is for walks, picnics, and sports.
