Torvehallerne
At Israels Plads near Nørreport, you will find Torvehallerne. The two halls consist of 80 stalls and an open marketplace in the middle. The halls opened in 2011. Previously, Copenhagen’s Vegetable Market was located here. It was established in 1889.
Israel Plads got its name in 1968, marking 25 years since the persecution of Jews in Denmark during World War II. At the same time, a Denmark Square was named in Jerusalem.
Torvehallerne is best described as a place for those who love gourmet. Here you will find all the delicious Danish products, plenty of cafés, restaurants, and the fresh fruit in the market in the middle.
More than 115,000 people visit Torvehallerne each week.
